Yandex Direct advertising

from $300/motimeline subscription

Yandex Direct is the main search advertising platform in Russia, and it burns budgets easily: impressions in mobile games, clicks from the wrong country, searches for “free” and “DIY”. I run campaigns so the money goes to people looking for your service, and I measure the result in enquiries, not clicks.

What's included

Queries

Keywords and negative keywords for your service and region

Ads

With the price and the offer — to filter out random clicks

Goals

Yandex Metrica counts real enquiries, not page views

Budget

Bids and spend under control, no overspend by the end of the week

Clean-up

Every week — queries and placements that bring no enquiries

Report

Monthly: spend, enquiries, cost per enquiry and what changes next

How the work runs

  1. 01

    Site review

I look at the site through the eyes of someone arriving from an ad: is it clear what you do, what it costs and how to get in touch. If the page loses people, I say so before launch: advertising a weak page burns money fastest.

    1–2 days
  2. 02

    Goals and analytics

I set up a Metrica goal for a real enquiry — a form submission or a call. Direct learns from it, and I measure results by it. I don't use goals like “viewed three pages”: on those the algorithm buys random clicks.

  3. 03

    Launch

Keywords, negative keywords, ads with the price, region and schedule. I start with search: there the ad is seen by people looking for the service right now. The display network comes later, once search already brings enquiries and there is something to scale.

  4. 04

    Management

Queries that got clicks, new negative keywords, bids, ads that don't work. Direct changes some settings on its own — region, auto-targeting — so I check them rather than hope they stayed as they were.

  5. 05

    Report

How much was spent, how many enquiries came in and at what cost each, which queries brought them and what I change next month. The figures come from your own Direct and Metrica accounts, which you always have access to.

What moves the price

"from $300/mo" is the floor, not bait. Here's what pushes the number up, so you can place your own case before we talk.

Directions

One service in one region, or several — each with its own ads

Placements

Search only, or the Yandex display network as well

Volume

More campaigns and budget mean more work with them

Questions

Is the ad budget included in the price?

No. You pay the budget to Yandex directly, from your own Direct account — that money never goes through me. The management fee is for my work: setup, query clean-up, bids and reports.

What budget do I need?

It depends on the cost per click in your niche and how many enquiries you need. Before launch I check click prices for your queries and tell you roughly what a week of advertising will cost. If the budget is too small for the algorithm to learn, I'll say that too — it's more honest to wait than to waste it.

Whose ad account will it be?

Yours. Campaigns are created in your Direct account, and the access and the whole history stay with you — even if we stop working together.

Do you guarantee enquiries?

No, and don't trust anyone who does: the result depends on demand, price and the site itself. What I promise instead: ads shown in your region for searches about your service, every change explained in the report, and if the advertising doesn't pay off, I'll tell you myself.

Can I stop the advertising?

Yes, any month: the contract is month to month, with no penalties. The campaigns stay in your account and can be switched back on.

Shall we talk?

Half an hour on a call and you'll have an estimate and a plan. Free, and it commits you to nothing.
